Light, Space, and Joy: A Home Transformed - Kitchen & Rear Extension

I recently had the pleasure of visiting clients who commissioned a single-storey rear extension to their home — designed by us at Bliss Architecture & Interiors and expertly built by Berrywood Contractors.

These clients were delighted with their new home and shared: “These works have changed our lives.”

Now, every morning they enjoy breakfast in their light-filled kitchen extension, appreciating how lucky they feel — whatever the weather.

Last Christmas, they were able to host their extended family, with plenty of space for festive cooking and dining. They mentioned that the children especially enjoyed a game that involved running around the circular layout of the new rooms.

This summer, the patio doors stayed open most days, creating an effortless flow between the kitchen extension and the raised patio — the perfect spot for relaxing in the sunshine and feeling, as they said, “like we’re on holiday at home.”

For me, it was a joy to see first-hand how thoughtful design can completely transform family life. I’ve been fortunate to witness many happy clients enjoying their new spaces, but this family were positively beaming — and that is why I love what I do.
