Planning Permission granted for fabulous granny annexe

Updated: Mar 16, 2020

Really pleased to have planning permission granted by Tandridge for a fabulous new granny annexe project in Limpsfield that will give light, airy and all-year-round independent accommodation for visiting grandparents.

My clients, a South African couple who have relocated to the UK, wanted to rebuild their existing garage building as a self-contained annexe, so their parents could stay with them for extended periods, but have their own space and independence.

We designed a lovely, light and airy annexe that made maximum use of the existing garage's footprint, focusing on creating a modern space with lots of contemporary features, but in keeping with the architecture of the main house.

The single storey annexe of around 42m2 is bright and airy, thanks to full height space and lots of Velux windows throughout. The spacious open plan living with modern kitchenette, dining and lounge area also benefits from a lovely private verandah, while the modern, practical bedroom and shower room have plenty of storage for long stays.

Perfect for visiting relatives or even AirBNB.

Really happy with the planning application results and looking forward to seeing the transformation over the coming months!
