A complex planning scenario in Tandridge


As Architectural Designers, Bliss Interiors manages all aspects of extensions, home improvements and additions, as well as interior design. This conversion, extension and update of a gorgeous cottage in Tandridge required Julie Bliss to work closely with the planners at Tandridge District Council due to the project's complex planning scenario.

The side extension was dealt with under 'permitted development', while a separate 'full plans application' was submitted for the erection of a front porch, formation of a pitched roof to the front elevation and changes to fenestration (aka windows and other openings!), including installation/removal of windows and doors. Planning Permission and a Certficate of Lawfulness were granted on all the works.

Julie also wrote the specification and applied for Building Regulation approval, which has also been granted.

Works are now proceeding well on site by one of our preferred contractors, Stokeswood Construction Ltd.
