Creating a teenager-free zone with a single storey extension
Updated: Oct 23, 2020
There are all sorts of reasons for wanting to make some more space in your downstairs living area; and a single storey extension can create all sorts of rooms from offices, playrooms, kitchens and dens so you don't have to share your living room with your teenager's Xbox!
Single storey extensions are great ways to re-create or redesign your living space, so that everyone can live in harmony and all needs are covered.
This lovely project in Bromley, added a small single storey extension to allow its owners to make an extra teenager-free retreat on their ground floor, utilising Velux windows and bi-fold doors to maximise light and create the feeling of a much bigger space.
With some exterior landscaping, the family now have space for everyone and a lovely area for indoor-outdoor living in the warmer months.
This project is a great illustration of how a small extension, under permitted development, and internal remodelling of the existing floor plan can make a huge difference.
